Meet Our Captains – Puget Sound Fishing Charters
At Puget Sound Fishing Charters, our captains are more than skilled boat operators—they are full-time, licensed professionals with decades of experience on Washington’s coastal waters. From the moment you book your trip to the final cast, our captains are focused on your safety, satisfaction, and success.
Not only do they hold United States Coast Guard (USCG) Near Coastal Masters Licenses, but they also carry TWIC cards and, in addition, bring extensive experience operating vessels in big water conditions. As a result, you can count on their expertise at every turn. Furthermore, whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned angler, you can confidently trust our captains to guide you safely through a fun, smooth, and productive fishing trip near Seattle.
Captain Doug Saint-Denis
Doug is the owner and operator of 365 Charters & Ridge to River Outdoors, LLC.

As a full-time charter captain and sport fishing guide, Captain Doug Saint-Denis operates year-round out of Seattle. He brings a lifetime of passion and global fishing experience to every charter he leads.
“I started fishing when I was just five years old. Remembering the excitement of getting my first rod, reel, and tackle box is a great memory. I grew up chasing bass, crappie, and catfish, and over the years I’ve fished all around the world—from yellowfin tuna in the Pacific to wahoo and Spanish mackerel in the Indian Ocean.” — Doug Saint-Denis
Our Captains find great joy in creating memorable experiences on the water.
Watching someone catch their first Pacific Northwest fish is one of his favorite parts of the job. His service in the U.S. Navy also gave him the opportunity to fish extensively across Japan, Australia, Guam, and Korea. Since 1990, he has specialized in salmon, steelhead, sturgeon, trout, and bass fishing in the Pacific Northwest.
Importantly, Doug believes exceptional customer service begins long before you step aboard. That’s why all equipment used by 365 Charters is carefully maintained, cleaned, and prepared well in advance. From high-end electronics to top-tier gear, Doug spares no effort to ensure you have the best possible experience.
Doug holds a USCG Near Coastal Masters License, a TWIC card, and is a fully licensed Washington State charter operator and fishing guide. Subsequently, he maintains full insurance coverage for all charter and sport fishing operations in Washington State.
Doug also serves as a pro staff member for top brands, including Humminbird, Cannon, Minn Kota, Yamaha, St. Croix Rods, and more. He produces HD video content focused on fishing education, gear tutorials, and how-to guides. He believes every angler benefits from continued learning and shared knowledge. Take me to the videos.
Captain Rich Olson
Captain Rich Olson is the owner and operator of Northwest Fishing Charters.

Rich is also a full-time charter captain, operating out of Edmonds Marina, just north of Seattle. With over 40 years of fishing experience, Rich has developed a deep knowledge of the local waters and fish behavior.
“My father used to take me fishing at Possession Bar, right at the southern tip of Whidbey Island. He taught me everything I know. Depending on the tide, bait, and season, the fishing there can be phenomenal. I now share those same experiences with my clients.” — Rich Olson
Rich has turned his childhood passion into a full-time profession.
Therefore, he understands the importance of not only catching fish but also providing a first-class experience from start to finish. Like Doug, Rich devotes countless hours to maintaining and preparing his equipment. The result ensures your trip is smooth, efficient, and enjoyable.
Rich holds a USCG Near Coastal Masters License, a TWIC card, and is a Washington State licensed charter operator. He is also fully insured to meet all regulatory standards for Washington charter fishing operations.
As part of his commitment to quality, Rich is a pro staff member for Humminbird, Cannon, and Minn Kota Motors, using only the best gear to help you land fish consistently and comfortably.
